Meet The Author

Joanne has spent her career in the trenches, navigating the high-stakes world of non-profits and the complex landscapes of Fortune 500 corporations. Because she’s held roles across IT, management, marketing, and business development, she doesn’t just look at a project from a distance—she sees the 360-degree reality of what it takes to make an organization succeed.

With a cum laude degree in Computer Information Systems from Rhode Island College, Joanne’s approach is rooted in technical grit. She knows exactly what it’s like to be the one responsible for the "heavy lifting"—a highlight of her career includes serving as the sole IT contributor building the backend for a highly technical medical system implementation. She understands that for new and aspiring project managers, the challenge isn’t just learning the theory; it’s surviving the "real world" where resources are tight and technical requirements are complex. Her writing is driven by a genuine desire to help you skip the trial-and-error phase, refine your analytical skills, and achieve your full potential without the burnout.

When she’s not dissecting business challenges or crafting actionable strategies for the next generation of leaders, Joanne cherishes time with her family and exploring new cultures through travel.
